It's gotten cold here in Georgia, for the first time this year. There was even ice on my car this morning.
I grew up in northern Ohio, where it got cold, and lived for a brief time in upstate New York, where it got ridiculously cold. Living outside NYC was cold-ish, but the geography of the city and the water keeps it fairly warm there (and also humid, which I prefer).
Alas, those eight years in Florida appear to have really ruined my ability to weather the weather. I left the office last night to a windy 45 degrees - hardly frigid - and couldn't bear it. Time to get used to winter all over again, I guess.
One good thing about the cold, though, is far better skies. I used to love the robin's egg blue of an Ohio sky in December. The light is just right. Ditto for sunsets, like this one I snapped in Ohio in November. I miss natural lakes, too. Georgia doesn't have a single natural lake, which is so strange for someone who grew up on a chain of them.
This is Nimisila Lake, one of the few in my hometown that doesn't allow any development of any kind on its shores. I have a pic of the kayaker out enjoying the day, too, but I prefer the sunset. What do you think?
